Code of Conduct and Academic Standards
Code of Conduct violations happens when a student does not follow the code of conduct and disrupts the positive learning environment. Poor attendance in class is a code of conduct violation. Another example of code conduct violations is disorderly conduct. Disorderly conduct is when an individual or a group of people creates an unsafe environment, damages property, or disrupts the peace. For example: if someone decided they wanted to play loud heavy metal loud music while walking through the campus hall. Another example of disorderly conduct is the inappropriate use of electronics to take pictures or video of someone in an unconsented way. Another example of violating the Code of Conduct is processing, using, distributing, or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs while on university property or as part of any University activity. There are also academic integrity violations which is failure to maintain professionalism on campus and in class. When you are in class you must have proper demeanor, a positive appearance, great communication skills. Professionalism goes with you all your life long and it will show other people which you are always acting in a good standard manner. Furthermore, academic cheating involves the possession, communication, or use of information, materials, notes etc. This academic integrity violation. All students must have a high standard of behavior and personal integrity in the classroom, as stated in the Code of Conduct. Any act of deception in an academic context is considered academic dishonesty.

The definition of plagiarism is when using someone else words or ideas as your own without proper citation or recognition of that person. Plagiarism has the same consequences as academic dishonesty which is a serious offense in any scenario.

Students can avoid academic dishonesty in group work or as individuals by staring their assignments early to stay on track with the due dates.
