NRNP 6665: PMHNP Care Across the Lifespan I
Welcome to NRNP 6665: PMHNP Care Across the Lifespan I!
The multifaceted role of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) requires that the effective practitioner be well versed in a variety of diagnosis and treatment approaches in order to make sound decisions. The PMHNP must have a broad understanding of how to adapt diagnostic testing, diagnostic formulation, and treatment approaches for use across the lifespan. Certain approaches, such as psychopharmacologic treatment and psychotherapy, often must be significantly adapted for use in children or adolescents. Additionally, the PMHNP must understand how legal and ethical considerations may change depending on the age group involved.
In this course, you analyze the factors that inform the expression, course, and prevalence of a variety of psychopathologies and evaluate evidence-based psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacologic treatment approaches for mental health disorders across the lifespan. You will also begin formally planning and studying for your certification exam.
Again, welcome to the course!
