DNP 835 Patient Outcomes and Sustainable Change Syllabus

The course will prepare students to develop effective strategies that ensure quality and safe healthcare for patients and populations and evaluation of outcomes. Students will inquire about ethical principles, sustainable change, patient-centered care, and care delivery in surrounding practice. Also, they will be required to integrate specialty practice and core program competency requirements vital to show proficiency in ANP in the DNP practice immersion workspace.

Students must first complete DNP-825A.

Topic 1: Strategies to Ensure Safety and Quality Health Care

Pre Conference Evaluation: Individual Success Plan (ISP)

The assignment requires students to liaise with the course faculty to complete practice immersion hours, program competencies, and the DPI project.

In this assessment, students will examine their value in healthcare. They will cover concepts such as how to overcome barriers in offering cost-effective and high-value care, role in cost management, healthcare expenditure, value, cost, and relationship to quality.

Quality and Sustainability Paper: Part 1

The Quality and Sustainability Paper: Part 1 assignment should investigate a quality/safety issue in a healthcare entity. It should be 1500-1750 words. The paper should also be written according to the rubric and APA guidelines.

Students will reflect on “IHI Module: PS 202 Achieving Total Systems of Safety,”. Later, they will describe the eight recommendations proposed in the IHI report that DNP leaders can apply to fast-track patient safety and the deterrence of harm.
