• What have you learned that you can apply at work or in your personal writing? 

Started CTU a year ago in pursuit of my BS, early on I had a few English classes and having been out of school for so long I really struggled when it came time to write papers for those classes. I don’t usually struggle with topics or grammar however, learning APA style and staying away from slang words were tough for me at first. Since having those classes I feel like it has honed me to be a better writer and this class now has really helped me with citing my sources. This will help me in both work and personal writing because I can confidently research a topic and know some key things to look for when searching for credible sources.  

• How might incorporating research help strengthen your arguments personally or professionally? 

Now understanding what I should be looking for when researching a credible source, it will for sure help myself in arguments both personally and professionally to see for myself the right answer or to prove my case to someone else when we both may be looking for a answer and can’t seem to figure it out. Better to rely on facts then to just assume.

ANTHONY I agree with you that attending class and writing more can make one a perfect writer. Most of our classwork demand that we should write. Unfortunately, some students due to poor writing skills have a phobia of writing assignment. However, practicing may help learners to improve their writing skills. Intense writing gives room for erring and correcting (Phillips & Ahrenhoerster, 2018). Also, through exercise, learners get to understand academic language. APA writing style is among most preferable formats. Learning and understanding the style helps in completing writing assignments. Citation and referencing may be complicated for other learners. Therefore, attending the class is important in simplifying the writing process. Using unreliable sources in writing interferes with the quality of the manuscript (Costello, 2020). Regrettably, some learners may fail to identify reliable sources at the end use incorrect sources. Attending the entire course is important for nursing students. The skills and knowledge acquired are resourceful when interacted at work.

I have learned from past experiences to convince readers. One must have clear, precise writing and make your point that readers understand without any confusion. Our research should not be confusing, readers do not always make the same decision in the same way; it depends on the situation and their experiences. In this case, citation helps convince the readers that the argument is based on fact and from a reliable source. 

I have learned to have a good argument and debate over social media, one must have facts and information, and the argument must be simple and straightforward which is done through research. Furthermore, you should be honest, and accept the fact that not all will agree with your point all the time. Readers are impressed if the information is supported by the data rather than emotions. 

To decide, much information is needed, like market research, case studies, and surveys to name a few. Convincing with presentations and direct appeal can be the best option to draw a conclusion. 

Researching the point before making an argument and especially the one that interests you can help you to have a stronger point through proven data. Arguments should include sharing the facts, telling your story, and asking for a review, if possible, all this can be done if I take time to look up reliable sources, and data to support the claims.

KAVITA most readers are always specific on what they want from the beginning. Therefore, if these readers cannot easy access the information they want they will quickly go for an alternative. Writers are expected to be attractive from the beginning. One must have clear, precise writing and make your point that readers understand without any confusion. Clear manuscript will have a high impression (Aripin & Rahmat, 2021). The information has to be accurate since some writers can compare information from different sources. Therefore, researching before authoring become an important routine. Research avoids redundancy. Citation helps convince the readers that the argument is based on fact and from a reliable source (Tabuena, 2020). Acknowledging that the writing process is a contribution of various professionals increases the credibility of the writing process. Different platforms can prepare students to be good writers. The information on the internet and the feedback can inform learners on the behavior of most readers. Researching improves access to plethora of information to guide effective writing process.
