The teaching and learning process focuses on equipping the learners with the right skills and knowledge related to the course outcomes. Therefore, instructors use various strategies to impart the skills and knowledge. As part of the learning process, students should participate in reflective learning and explore how various course aspects will help achieve the established goals and course objectives (Bjerkvik & Hilli,2019). As such, the purpose of this assignment is to formulate a reflective inquiry that explores how learning in this course will help achieve program outcome two and the advanced-level nursing education competencies. 

How Learning in The Course Will Help In the Achievement Of Program Outcome 2 

It is important to explore how learning in this course will be key to achieving the program outcomes. The program outcome is to create a caring environment for achieving quality health outcomes. This program’s outcomes will be achieved in several ways. Fundamental to quality health outcomes is an appropriate diagnosis for appropriate care formulation. The learning in this course will equip me with the required knowledge for the formulation of differential diagnoses of patients within the care settings (Olson et al.,2019). As such, an accurate diagnosis will lead to appropriate care actions such as treatment, management, adherence, and follow-up to help improve patient outcomes. Such differential diagnoses will be achieved through an analysis of the patient histories and physical findings and the use of appropriate diagnostic tools. 

Patient-centered care is known to improve the chances of better patient outcomes. Therefore, learning in this course will also play a vital role in equipping me with the knowledge required for care-focused and patient-centered care. For example, through various course activities and assignments, I will be able to formulate evidence-based management plans for patients with various common and acute health problems. The evidence-based management plan will play a key role in guiding the care plans and fulfilling various care actions such as prescription, treatment, and management. In addition, the care plans will be formulated while integrating the views of the patients and their families to help create a conducive care environment that can help achieve quality outcomes.

How Course Assignments of Activities Will Help in Achieving AACN Essentials. 

This course focuses on providing the fundamental knowledge required to come up with differential diagnoses of individuals within the primary care setting while introducing critical diagnostic skills to cultivate evidence-based behaviors. Therefore, various assignments and activities will be key to achieving the AACN essential domain two, particularly domain 2.4, which focuses on the diagnosis of actual or potential health problems and needs (Giddens et al.,2022). The learning in this course also includes hours of supervised clinical practicum in primary care. Therefore, the activities during the practicum duration will entail assessing patients and formulating potential diagnoses for the patients for care formulation. Such a feat will be achieved by employing context-driven and advanced reasoning in the decision-making and diagnostic process.  The supervision will help me develop the right and more robust skills for assessing patients for potential health problems and needs. 

The class assignments and weekly discussions also play an essential role in achieving the highlighted AACN domain. For example, assignments such as the iHuman virtual patient encounter dealing with abdominal assessment are essential in assessing for abnormalities of the abdomen to come up with the potential differential diagnosis, which can then be used in formulating a detailed care plan for such patients. The discussions also focus on various aspects, such as diagnostic tools and instruments that can be used in various situations; all these play a crucial role in achieving the AACN domain two. 

Conclusion 

This assignment has focused on reflective learning. Therefore, aspects such as how learning will be vital to achieving program outcome two and AACN domains have been explored. Various practicum hour experiences, class assignments, and discussions will all play an essential role in achieving the targets.
