My favorite Quote is Nothing in life is to be feared,it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more so that we may fear less by Marie Curie. Fear is very crippling; it suffocates us and prevents us from bringing out our full potential. It makes you refrain from taking the next step but today I want to tell this class that we somehow bypassed all fears , especially all the things that could have possibly gone wrong and decided to take this class and now we are all ready to understand more and fear less. My Favorite song is “Word of God” by MercyMe. In very difficult times it reminds me that God is always there. My favorite line is to be still and know that you’re in this place please let me stay and rest in your holiness. There are times when it feels like all hope is lost, like when the week seems too short because there is just too much going on with home and work and the school work has to be done. This song reminds me that God is always present, just do your part and he will do the rest. My most difficult part of this course was researching, generally finding the information and also referencing and citation. The easiest part for me was writing when my research was fruitful. I enjoy writing and love what I do and I feel at home writing about it.

Sample Answer 2 for NRS 430 Discuss the importance of advocacy as it pertains to client care
My favorite quote is “Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed” by Antoine Lavoisier who was the first person to formulate the law of the conservation of mass. To me, this quote correlates to the concept of cause and effect, so it is fundamental to understand the world around me. Every action or decision I take can have one or multiple consequences, whether immediate or long-term. These consequences can be positive or negative, depending on the nature of the action. For example, if I choose to exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet, I am likely to enjoy good health and longevity. Conversely, if I engage in unhealthy habits like smoking or overeating, this will result in me suffering from health problems later in life.
There was not an aspect of the class I truly dislike, but if I were to choose I would say that I enjoyed writing the long essays as I felt that the research I was doing got me discovering some fascinating facts about nursing that I knew little about. On the opposite side, my least favorite part was having to read two posts and write two answers for three days per week. It felt more of an obligation than me learning more about the subject matter. Overall I enjoyed this class, it definitely helped in motivating me to keep pushing ahead.

One of the many things that caught my attention from the video was the part about being mentors to new nurses, and always being teachers and learners (Elders, 2018). After my experience of coming into an unknown field and being a brand-new nurse and experiencing the bullying and abuse I endured the first 3 months of my career, mentoring new nurses has become something I am extremely passionate about. Those first few months in nursing are so critical and the new graduate nurses are so very vulnerable at that time of their careers. It costs absolutely nothing to be kind to someone and it amazed me that the “nurses” trained to care for sick and dying patients were the same ones mistreating new nurses. I never want another nurse to feel the things I felt, and question if going through nursing school was even the right decision after driving home in tears, from 12-hour shifts that were filled with snarky, cruel, abusive remarks from the nurses getting paid to train the new nurses. In the field of nursing that is always evolving and changing, there is something new to learn and teach others. I never want to reach a complacency in my career, that I feel I’ve learned everything I need to know. I want to continue to grow, learn, mentor and teach others. Especially new nurses, those stand out to me the most, because if they can learn, grow and begin those first steps of their nursing career in a safe, nurturing environment with kind nurses, I believe those new nurses will grow into strong confident nurses of the future.

Sample Answer 4 for NRS 430 Discuss the importance of advocacy as it pertains to client care
Our role in patient advocacy is to stand up for their rights and provide them with the right care and education. Advocacy is the act of supporting a cause. (Helbig, 2022) I think every day I advocate for patients because I care for them. Sometimes patients don’t fully understand their diagnosis, treatment, or medications. When I have a patients who are bladder-incontinent, I helped them get incontinence supplies at no cost. Many patients are not aware of the programs that the community has to help patients by providing supplies. It is important to fully educate patients about risk factors and side effects and teach them about possible treatments. Providing the right medications to our patients is another example of advocacy; provide safety for them. According to Nitzky (2018), there are six ways to advocate for patients, such as educating patients, protecting patients rights, connecting patients to resources, and providing the right medication to their patients. It is very important to keep patients updated on their care. Unsuccessful advocacy can result in negative consequences for the health institution and nurses. (Nsiah, et.al. (2020)
