Grand Canyon University NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them-Step-By-Step Guide
This guide will demonstrate how to complete the Grand Canyon University NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them assignment based on general principles of academic writing. Here, we will show you the A, B, Cs of completing an academic paper, irrespective of the instructions. After guiding you through what to do, the guide will leave one or two sample essays at the end to highlight the various sections discussed below.
How to Research and Prepare for NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them
Whether one passes or fails an academic assignment such as the Grand Canyon University NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them depends on the preparation done beforehand. The first thing to do once you receive an assignment is to quickly skim through the requirements. Once that is done, start going through the instructions one by one to clearly understand what the instructor wants. The most important thing here is to understand the required format—whether it is APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.
After understanding the requirements of the paper, the next phase is to gather relevant materials. The first place to start the research process is the weekly resources. Go through the resources provided in the instructions to determine which ones fit the assignment. After reviewing the provided resources, use the university library to search for additional resources. After gathering sufficient and necessary resources, you are now ready to start drafting your paper.
How to Write the Introduction for NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them
The introduction for the Grand Canyon University NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them is where you tell the instructor what your paper will encompass. In three to four statements, highlight the important points that will form the basis of your paper. Here, you can include statistics to show the importance of the topic you will be discussing. At the end of the introduction, write a clear purpose statement outlining what exactly will be contained in the paper. This statement will start with “The purpose of this paper…” and then proceed to outline the various sections of the instructions.

How to Write the Body for NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them
After the introduction, move into the main part of the NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them assignment, which is the body. Given that the paper you will be writing is not experimental, the way you organize the headings and subheadings of your paper is critically important. In some cases, you might have to use more subheadings to properly organize the assignment. The organization will depend on the rubric provided. Carefully examine the rubric, as it will contain all the detailed requirements of the assignment. Sometimes, the rubric will have information that the normal instructions lack.
Another important factor to consider at this point is how to do citations. In-text citations are fundamental as they support the arguments and points you make in the paper. At this point, the resources gathered at the beginning will come in handy. Integrating the ideas of the authors with your own will ensure that you produce a comprehensive paper. Also, follow the given citation format. In most cases, APA 7 is the preferred format for nursing assignments.
How to Write the Conclusion for NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them
After completing the main sections, write the conclusion of your paper. The conclusion is a summary of the main points you made in your paper. However, you need to rewrite the points and not simply copy and paste them. By restating the points from each subheading, you will provide a nuanced overview of the assignment to the reader.
How to Format the References List for NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them
The very last part of your paper involves listing the sources used in your paper. These sources should be listed in alphabetical order and double-spaced. Additionally, use a hanging indent for each source that appears in this list. Lastly, only the sources cited within the body of the paper should appear here.

Re: Topic 7 DQ 1
DeNisco (2024) summarizes Sackett’s 7 steps in the evidence-based practice process as support for evidence-based research, identifying a problem in clinical practice, gathering evidence, reviewing the evidence, integrating the evidence, evaluating outcomes, and then disseminating the outcomes into new practice (p. 573). It is vital that institutions support advanced practice nurses (APN) in their efforts to improve healthcare outcomes by providing access to databases for research. There are models available to assist the APNs in gathering and organizing data collected. These models are meant to speed up the implementation of new knowledge into practice (DeNisco, 2024). This allows APNs to identify problems in the clinical setting and gather evidence using those resources to solve them. The next step is to appraise the evidence collected and determine if the evidence collected is applicable to the clinical practice. Integrating the evidence allows the APN to determine the quality and strength of the evidence related to the clinical problem. Next, evaluating outcomes is necessary before the final step of implementation of the practice change. An example I found is an article by Stuffle & Embree (2022) where they discuss a strategic process framework to implement and sustain evidence-based practice in four steps; formulation using the SWOT model, operationalizing using the John Hopkins Evidence-Based Practice model, execution, and monitoring. Throughout this process it is vital to include shared decision making and collaboration to ensure better clinical practice and outcomes.
Specifically, I have used UpToDate and Lippincott to support unit policies and procedures. Evidence-based practice should be based on the best evidence, expertise, patient values and available resources to guide decision-making in the clinical (DeNisco, 2024).

Sample Answer 2 for NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them
As nurses we continue to have practice changes with the goal to provide better care. As we continue to find, identify, and develop new ways of performing health care we must also look to do better in whatever we are doing. Evidence-based practice (EBP) is important as it ensures competent, ethical, up-to-date, and optimal care is being provided (DeNisco, 2024). There are several steps which are involved in designing and implementation of an EBP. The foundation of EBP is the question the nurse has on a specific practice, action, or treatment. This question can then be organized in a format to evaluate. This acronym is PICOT: P(Population), I(Intervention), C(Comparison), 0(Outcome Measured) and T(Time). (DeNisco, 2024). The importance of using EBP is that it provides a systematic and transparent approach to basic scientific knowledge that is back by reputable sources and research (Robinson et al., 2021).
If I were going to initiate a EBP project I would need to locate the information needed to start to develop my research. Being employed by a major corporate network, the inter-net would be the first place I would turn my attention to. Our access to many data bases is at our fingertips. Two common sources that our institution strongly recommends are PUBMED which has many citations of biomedical research and CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health) (Southern Utah University, 2020). These sites contain a significant of information that can help start the process with a multitude of research data Also on these databases, we can narrow down our searches to keywords, peer reviewed articles that have been released within the last five years falling within the PICOT guideline. I would also speak to my librarian for additional guidance and direction. I could also contact our IRB division and ask for additional guidance in my formulated question. With all these resources available at my disposable, I feel confident that I could obtain the needed research data.

Sample Answer 3 for NUR 513 Describe the steps of the evidence-based research process and the importance of using them
The evidence-based practice (EBP) is a problem-solving approach that entails certain steps focused on improving quality of care (Portney, 2020). These steps include having a sense of inquiry, asking a clinical question that needs answers, searching for the relevant information and evidence, and a critical appraisal of research evidence, incorporation of the question’s basic concepts and evaluation of the outcomes (Hopia & Heikkilä, 2020). These steps are important as they provide a systematic approach to generating evidence on a practice intervention that a provider wishes to implement in their practice setting.
Nurses in my specialty, nursing leadership, use two sources to locate information on evidence-based practice. These include CINAHL database and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) website (www.aacn.org). These sources offer access to huge amounts of information for nurses in the specialty. For instance, the CINAHL database consists of journal articles on nursing with full text (Glanville et a., 2019). The database is also important for nurses and allied health workers to get good knowledge on EBP interventions in diverse care settings.
