Summary of strengths:
Need a high-quality paper urgently?
We can deliver within hours.
The family nurse position calls for experience, skills, and expertise in diverse areas to serve clients appropriately and meet their health needs. The clinical practice has been instrumental as I have gained hands-on experience that has boosted my confidence in managing diverse family healthcare needs. Vicarious experience promotes self-confidence in the skills and knowledge required for health education (Zamani-Alavijeh et al., 2019). I have amassed significant knowledge, experience, and confidence in the treatment and dressing of burns, wound cleaning, debridement and overall care, staple placement, and performing interrupted sutures. Besides, I participated in several EKG lead placements which enhanced my exposure to feedback evaluation. Although I participated in epistaxis management, I need more exposure to gain composure in managing such cases.

Opportunities for growth:
Despite my experience in the family nurse practice, there are areas in which I need to gain more experience through regular exposure to practice that can boost the quality of care. The skills and knowledge in burns management, staple placement, and suturing can strongly benefit from knowledge of anesthesia. Administration of anesthesia enhances the patient’s experience, especially suturing. According to Smith et al. (2023), anesthesia alleviates pain stimuli by controlling autonomic reflexes. I failed to get exposure to splinting, tick removal, wart destruction, joint injection, and contraception (long-term placement, and IUD placement and removal. These areas are critical to my scope of practice hence I need to strategize on an effective approach to enhance first-hand experience, boost confidence, and promote independent decision-making and the ability to inform patient care. Hands-on practice promotes skills proficiency in nursing home nurses (Robbins, 2020). Besides, I would love to gain more insight into cryotherapy, punch biopsy, shave biopsy, and preparing the KOH skin scrapping slide. Microscopy and other staining techniques are some of the areas in which I can gain insight and experience fundamental to family nurse practice.

Now, write three to four (3–4) possible goals and objectives for this practicum experience. Ensure that they follow the SMART Strategy, as described in the Learning Resources.
I will administer at least three joint injections by the end of week 10 I will prepare 5 KOH slides for fungus and perform 10 basic microscopy tests by the end of week 8 I will independently manage burns, place and remove staples, suture, and remove sutures at the end of week 10.
