Take a moment to reflect on your current program of study. Identify the knowledge and skills you believe you will gain that will apply to your career goals. How will you present these knowledge and skills to an employer? 

As a Psychologist with an emphasis in sports psychology, I believe I will gain effective knowledge on how to build the skills needed in my field of study. I look forward to learning and understanding human behavior. Learning more about the cognitive processes and how thoughts influence actions and feelings. I look to gain great communication skills which will be effective in psychology. One of the most important things that I will learn is understanding diversity and culture perspectives. Psychology to me is not only about theory, it’s about applying what you learn to understand and improve lives.  

In the sports field I’m interested in how mental strategies can improve athletic performance. Learning about the mental skills. It would be my job to find strategies that includes visualization techniques and goals that can enhance performance. The skills and knowledge I would present to an employer to show what I bring to the organization is the foundation in goal setting, mental skills training, and positive self-talk. I have experience with workshops for athletes that cover everything from meditation, mindfulness, breath work, and visualization exercises. It will enhance an athletes’ performance by improving focus and confidence. My goal is to contribute to the team in ways that focus on mental training programs and promote overall well-being.

In my current program of study, I am looking forward to gaining a lot of knowledge that will help me with my future projects. One thing I am looking forward to is learning about marketing; with the current technology growth, marketing skills are important to meet constant changes in social media and technology. Although I will take this class, I know that this will be something that I will have to take continuous educational courses to stay up with the trends. 

Global Business is something else that will help me because I will be looking to do business internationally. I have minimal knowledge of doing business internationally, but I know that I need to learn a lot more. I have been wanting to read up more on doing business globally, so this class will help steer me in the right direction. 

Entrepreneurship and Innovation will give me the knowledge to find ideas for future businesses that I may want to pursue. I have owned my own business in the past, but I do not know what the current needs or services that is in demand. With this class, I am hoping to learn the skills that will keep anything I do relevant and successful. 

I am looking to put this knowledge and skills to use for myself and not an employer, although I will need to use them when looking for partnerships with other businesses or organizations. It will help me as an employer and nonprofit leader to better serve those people who will be depending on me.
